After years of absence in the F1 calendar, precisely 2003! finally last year, we’ve got it back again! I’m talking about of the famous Osterreich Ring, or the A1-Ring now called The Red Bull Ring. One of the fastest track ever been in the F1 Calendar, so fast that before returning to the category, it had to change the layout for safety reasons. Known also as Zeltweg Circuit or Spielberg Circuit. Elevation changes and high speeds straight and corners make this circuit one of the fastest of all time. In 2004 was bought by the Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz and then began their €70m reconstruction of the track.

For the third race in succession, the P Zero Yellow soft and P Zero Red supersoft tyres have been nominated. The demands on the tyres are relatively low, with two straights and reasonably slow corners. The Spielberg circuit runs in a clockwise direction, but there are two very significant corners (turns 5 and 6) that place considerable stress on the tyres on the right-hand side of the car.

The circuit takes advantage of the undulating Austrian terrain, with the first corner causing clashes on previous occasions before entering the longest straight on the circuit. This ends with a slow corner at the beginning of the second sector and continues with another straight and slow corner. This is followed by a fast, flowing section between turns 3 and 7, before finally going back around a right-hand turn to the finish line. While it originally was longer, it is now the third shortest track on the calendar at 4.326 kilometres, ahead of Interlagos and Monaco. The long straights mean that the laps are normally completed quickly.

The Red Bull Ring is for sure one of my favourite circuits. I really enjoy drive here, get a good pace and keep improving lap after lap. Very technical but really fast track. As always I made a video for you guys Maniacs ! and you can watch it here. Share this post if you want, spread the blog, thumbs up if you like the video, subscribe to my youtube channel for being updated, take a look to the Facebook page also. Feel free to comment, and if you have any question suggestion don’t be afraid. See you in the next episode!
