Hello maniacs and welcome to another episode of F1Simulatormaniac! If you missed our last blog post about the first 2015 GP of the season in Australia in Melbourne you can read it here. Today we take a break from the F1 simulator, to talk about another formula. As I said in another blog post, I normally practice on the F1 Simulator, and sometimes for fun, maybe with some friends, we challenge each other on other racing categories, so today I want to talk to you about Formula Renault 3.5.
The Formula Renault category is the benchmark for drivers before the big step in higher categories, such as F3, GP2 series, or Formula One. The season takes place on many F1 approved race track such as Monaco, Spa-Francorchamps, Hungaroring, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, and Nürburgring. Also designed with driver development in mind, the Formula Renault 3.5 comes equipped with the technology used at the very highest level, such as semi-automatic gearboxes, carbon brakes, and DRS. The combination of 530bhp V8 engines, considerable downforce, and Michelin tires results in an extremely efficient car, capable of cornering at high speed.
So I tried to drive a bit in the simulator you can watch a video here, testing at the Catalunya Circuit with the Tech-1 Team Red Bull. I’m still trying to find some better setting for the steering wheel, in fact, if you know something comment down here and let me know what you think. I made a few runs and recorded a hot lap. Pretty different from F1 driveability. Hope you enjoy the test and hope to see you soon. As always feel free to comment, follow me on Twitter, or Facebook, and if you want you can subscribe to my youtube channel. More to come soon. Bye for now!
